Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¼ cup quick oats
  • ¾ cup no sugar added sunflower seed butter
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons lightly salted roasted sunflower seeds
  • 2 tablespoons dairy-free chocolate chips
Optional
  • 1 –2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 1 –2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
  • 1 –2 tablespoons chopped pumpkin seeds

Method
 

  1. Add the oats to a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  2. Add the sunflower seed butter and maple syrup, then stir until well combined.
  3. Mix in the sunflower seeds and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  4. Roll the mixture into small balls using your hands.
  5. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for a firmer texture.

Notes

Each protein ball contains approximately 3 to 4 grams of protein. A serving of 2 balls provides about 6 to 8 grams of protein. Protein content may increase if additional seeds are added.
Store the protein balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
If the mixture feels too sticky when rolling, lightly wet your hands with water to make shaping the balls easier.
These protein balls are naturally nut-free and can be a great option for school snacks, but always check your school’s allergy policies and be mindful of cross-contact depending on your home environment.
